Hello Curio Cat Students! Welcome to a new science fair season. This past summer, all of you have been hard at work improving your skills and conducting research. This season, you will have another opportunity to showcase your amazing innovations and discoveries. Please check your individual calendars (which I have shared with you via Google docs) to see your upcoming events and deadlines. For some of you, the abstract for BOTH your first and second student research conference is due in 3 weeks:

(1) 2021 Sigma Xi Student Research Conference poster presentation abstract due September 24, 2021.

(2) 2021 Southern California Conferences for Undergraduate Research (SCCUR) abstract due September 24, 2021.

If your project involves computer programming, then please begin packaging your code into an application. You have precisely 2 months to create your app for the annual Congressional App Challenge.

(3) 2021 Congressional App Challenge app due November 1, 2021.

Remember, you are allowed to use any coding language and platform. For most of you, that means building out your Python GUI and creating your executable. If you are having trouble, let me know. Also, if you are a senior, your individual calendar will contain senior-only events:

(4) 2022 Regeneron Science Talent Search: the application deadline is November 10, 2021 at 8 PM EST.

(5) Scholarships: the application start date for the first scholarship is today, September 1, 2021!

All of you have hectic schedules (such is life for an aspiring high school researcher). So please stay ahead of your schedule. If you need individualized guidance, please send me a text or email.
