It’s that time of year again. Right around February, high school students (and their parents!) begin their search for the ideal summertime activity. Some popular choices include summer school, coding bootcamps, research opportunities, internships, and work. Here at TheCurioCat, we have combined all of the aforementioned activities into one Summer Program! Our Summer Program is akin to a summer school in that students will be taught many academic subjects, including data science, machine learning, and applied mathematics. Our Summer Program is also a coding bootcamp because students will be taught, line by line, how to write powerful programs in Python. At its core, our Summer Program is a STEM research program. We teach students the skills they need to complete a publication-quality research project. In fact, TheCurioCat mentors will shepherd each student’s project from its inception to its completion. Our Summer Program also empowers students to create their own internship. We allow students to choose any STEM research topic they desire. Therefore, students can learn whatever they want. We will tailor our classes to your child’s topic of choice. We will teach your child the most relevant software to fit his or her need. Our Summer Program is also like a “job” in that your child will be given weekly assignments and metrics for success. Your child will learn perseverance, independence, and the value of hard work. To get an even better idea of the benefits of our Summer Program, here are 10 facts you need to know!
- All classes are taught by working professionals (including those with professional licenses and terminal degrees).
- In the past 18 months, our students have published 7 papers.
- We work with students in various time zones (we currently have students in 4 states)!
- Past students have been accepted to Stanford, Yale, USC, UC Berkeley, University of Michigan, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, Purdue University, and Cal Tech.
- Our students have published in the Columbia Junior Science Journal, the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
- Students will learn to create their own Deep Learning Neural Network, i.e., Artificial Intelligence!
- All students will receive one-on-one tutoring, as necessary, to complete their projects.
- Students will learn data science techniques including Monte Carlo simulation, Markov chains, linear regression, logistic regression, statistical analysis, random forest regression, random forest classifier, linear programming, search algorithms, and more!
- Students can text and email their mentors at any time!
- Students will receive a copy of our proprietary Python codes! These codes will enable your child to perform all their analysis quickly and accurately.
